Giving
Why we Give
These Guidelines for Giving contain information to assist you in financially supporting the work of the gospel at Waitara Anglican Church and beyond.
We encourage all members to regularly update their financial giving and support of ministry. The giving of our members provides the finances necessary for all of our ministries, including staff salaries, housing, maintenance, electricity, stationery, missions, and everything we need to operate day to day.
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7
Ways to Give
1. Offering Collection
Cash or cheques can be given in the offering collection, or via the foyer letterbox, or through direct deposit. Envelopes may be used to give to a specific ministry or project (e.g. CMS, building fund, HADCEA etc).
2. Direct Deposit
We encourage members to give electronically by direct deposit, if possible. Electronic giving can be used for one off gifts, or regular giving (e.g. monthly, weekly etc). Please use the following details to establish your giving through your financial institution.
Account Name: All Saints Anglican Church, Waitara – General Fund
Bank Details: Commonwealth Bank of Australia
BSB number: 062 181
Account Number: 10006018
Details or description: please indicate what fund you’d like to contribute to (e.g. Building or 10am service or CMS)
Please note that direct debits may attract a small fee from your financial institution.
3. Bequests
Naming our church as a beneficiary in your will is great way to bless future ministry in the Hornsby area over the long term. Through a bequest, the blessings you have received can be passed on to future generations long after you’ve gone. Consider that Moore Theological College has been training people for ministry since 1856, and that the college started with a bequest from Thomas Moore’s estate. Our church site on the corner of Palmerston Rd and Burdett St was purchased in 1950 through provisions made in the estate of the Rev. Richard Garner, the former owner. Rev. Garner gave the Church of England the first option to buy the property at a value determined by the Valuer-General. Sizeable bequests can fund staff positions in perpetuity, purchase property, or fund long-term improvements to our facilities. If this kind of ‘legacy gift’ is something you would like to arrange, then we suggest the following wording be inserted in your will:
For cash gifts:
To the wardens for the time being of All Saints Anglican Church of Australia Waitara ABN 44 161 199 067 to be applied for such purposes of the parish in which the church building is situated or any ecclesiastical district of which it may subsequently form part as may be determined from time to time by a majority of the parish council of the parish. The receipt by any two (2) of the wardens shall be a sufficient discharge for my executors.
For gifts of assets other than cash:
To the Anglican Church Property Trust Diocese of Sydney ABN 95 690 399 815 to be applied for such purposes of the parish of Waitara or any ecclesiastical district of which it may subsequently form part as may be determined from time to time by a majority of the parish council of the parish. The receipt by the Secretary of the Anglican Church Property Trust Diocese of Sydney will be sufficient discharge for my executors.
